Invitation to the 4th UK-U.S. SME Dialogue

Date: Tuesday 9 July 2019
Time: 10:00AM – 5:00PM
Location: Bristol, United Kingdom

The 4th UK-U.S. Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Dialogue, under the auspices of the UK-U.S. Trade and Investment Working Group, will be held on Tuesday 9 July 2019 in Bristol (venue details to be provided on confirmation of attendance), followed by an SME showcase and networking reception.

The SME Dialogue is an ongoing exchange bringing SMEs and stakeholders on both sides of the Atlantic together with government officials to identify ways to deepen UK–U.S. trade and investment ties and strengthen cooperation on issues of mutual interest to SMEs. It also presents a chance to discuss the opportunities and obstacles posed by transatlantic trade.

The SME Dialogue is convened by the UK Department for International Trade, the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, and the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport; with the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The event will be co-hosted with BritishAmerican Business (BAB), a transatlantic business network dedicated to advancing economic growth for companies with operations in the UK and the U.S.

The Dialogue will focus on identifying the obstacles faced by SMEs in relation to trade; the opportunities and challenges presented by emerging technologies; as well as the government support available to SMEs.

Topics for discussion will include: identifying opportunities and obstacles for SMEs in accessing UK and U.S. markets; Emerging technology services and trade for SMEs; SME Best Practices: Emerging Technology SMEs in the UK and U.S.; and Supporting SME Growth.
