About InvesTech
The Commercial Section of the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa, is hosting invesTech 2017 – a customized, full-day workshop targeting women-owned companies looking to grow business opportunities and establish a presence in the United States. Whether you represent a well-established company or start-up/entrepreneurial venture, our team will assess your specific needs to ensure that InvesTech is customized to fill “information gaps” and address the unique challenges that women-owned companies face when expanding internationally.

Companies will participate in one-on-one consultations with business development experts, join small group presentations and discussions, and have an opportunity to “pitch” U.S. business expansion plans before an export panel that will provide real-time feedback!

While the event is customized for attendees, group discussions might include topics such as:

  • Accessing traditional and alternative funding sources to finance expansion to the United States
  • Pursue collaborative ventures/partnerships while minimizing risk
  • Typical corporate structure for small companies entering the U.S. market
  • Key considerations for managing a cross-border operation
  • Tips for making a soft landing in the United States
  • Identifying innovative clusters/incubators/accelerators in the United States

If your company is looking for a launchpad to the United States, please contact or 613-688-5406 to register your interest today!
