Boston University - The Center for English Language and Orientation Programs (CELOP) is the Intensive English Program at Boston University. Founded in 1975, CELOP has educated nearly 60,000 students, and maintains a large full-time faculty. CELOP offers a variety of programming from semester length, academic preparation to short-term professional, teacher training or English for Specific Purposes in areas such as innovation/entrepreneurship and STEM. CELOP students have been accepted to 32 of the Top 50 universities in the past 5 years and are guided by CELOP’s dedicated Academic Advisor. California Baptist University - The Intensive English Program (IEP) California Baptist University (CBU) offers classes from beginning to advanced levels that prepare students to academically succeed in undergraduate and graduate programs at CBU. Students have 20 hours of classroom instruction, and take courses in reading, writing, listening & speaking, vocabulary, and academic research. The IEP currently offers two tracks- the Intensive English Program, and the Pre-MBA program.  Students with joint admission can begin their undergraduate or graduate studies at CBU upon completion of the IEP.  Students studying in the IEP have the opportunity to meet weekly with conversation partners, use the tutoring center, be involved in campus events, participate in cultural activities, and make use of campus facilities.

Drexel University - Drexel’s English Language Center (ELC) has extensive experience administering Department of State funded programs. Founded in 1989, the Drexel ELC is entirely administered by Drexel University and offers an array of programs and services to meet the needs of its diverse international student community. Intensive English language programs are enhanced with intercultural, community, professional and academic activities to develop skills for global citizenship and student success, including American Cultural Connections™ activities, tutoring support and IELTS and TOEFL testing centers and test preparation. D’Youville - The Intensive English Program at D’Youville provides full-time academic English language classes to students at all levels.  D’Youville launched the Intensive English Program in 2019. We are looking to expand into the South American market to meet the needs of students with aspirations of US study and globally-minded professionals. In addition to the full-time IEP, we offer the Global Faculty Professional Institute each semester as professional development to partners from around the world; the program includes focused workshops and English language classes. Minnesota State University, Mankato - The Center for English Language Programs (CELP) is a unit of Global Education at Minnesota State University, Mankato. CELP includes the Intensive English Program (IEP) which offers undergraduate and graduate students English language training in order to prepare them for academic studies in a university context. IEP students are conditionally admitted to the university and upon successful completion and after satisfying the University’s language proficiency requirement and are eligible to enroll as regular degree-seeking students. In addition to the IEP, CELP also offers short-term language programs based on the specific needs of sponsoring agencies and various institutional partners.

North Carolina State University - The Intensive English Program at North Carolina State University serves both conditionally admitted undergraduate and graduate students to the university, and those who are seeking to improve their English for academic, professional, or personal reasons.  15-week semesters are offered in the Fall and Spring, and a 10-week semester is offered in the Summer.  Instruction is offered at three levels of proficiency - intermediate, high-intermediate, and low-advanced.  Students take between 23-25 hours of instruction per week.  A Pathway program is also available to students who meet eligibility requirements. All full-time students are eligible for free academic tutoring.  

Pace University- The English Language Institute at Pace University offers a wide range of American English language programs in New York: intensive English language courses for people wanting to improve their general English; academic English and test preparation courses for students planning to study in an American university; business English and cross-cultural training for professionals; special pricing, courses and schedules for au pairs on J1 visas; and custom programs to meet any need.

Rowan University - Rowan University is a national public university located in New Jersey​, and it is one of the top 100 public universities in the United States. The English Language Program (ELP) at Rowan University is an intensive academic English program for international students, and the ELP offers scholarship up to $3,750 a year. ​ Our primary goal is to prepare students for university success. The ELP has had a history of over 50 years helping students from non-English speaking countries all over the world and have had great careers in the U.S. and other countries. The ELP has five levels: Level 1 (Low Beginner), Level 2 (High Beginner), Level 3 (Low Intermediate), Level 4 (High Intermediate) and Level 5 (Advanced). After taking the placement test, students are placed in the level that best suits their knowledge of the English language. Classes are Monday thru Thursday 9:00am-3:00pm.

Southeast Missouri State University- Southeast Missouri State University’s (SEMO) CEA accredited academic English program accepts students at any proficiency level. The Foundations level provides integrated skills work for beginning students, while levels 1-5 prepare students for study at the undergraduate level during 8-week terms. In addition, we offer a

semester-long level for students who plan to pursue a master’s degree. Students enjoy free tutoring, computer lab access,  conversation practice, and activities, as well as all the services and amenities of the SEMO campus.

SUNY New Paltz - The Haggerty English Language Program was established over 40 years ago as an on-campus English institute. We offer general intensive English programs, as well as our own SEVIS-approved academic Pathway Program for students bound for university study. We also offer short-term summer programs, customizable group programs for English for Specific Purposes, and a new 2-week summer English camp for international high school students. All our faculty have master’s degrees in TESOL or Linguistics, and the program offers a wide variety of resources to help students to be successful and to immerse themselves within the culture. Conversation partners, community ambassador family partnerships, and cultural trips/activities are also a part of the students' experience while studying English with us.

University of Alabama - The UA English Language Institute (ELI), established in 1982, offers a year-round, 6-level Intensive English Program for students who want to study and live on a large, beautiful university campus. Students can begin this program in January, March, May, June, August, or October, and they can study from 1 month to 12 months. The ELI also has a 4-week English + Business Program which begins in January and August each year. Professional standards of the highest quality are extremely important to the ELI, as signified by CEA accreditation and membership in EnglishUSA and UCIEP.

University of Denver - The English Language Center (ELC) at the University of Denver (DU) prepares students for academic success in Bachelors, Masters, and PhD programs at DU and other institutions of higher education in the United States. For over 40 years, the ELC has prepared international students for future success. The ELC is the longest running intensive English language program in Denver.

The ELC offers 10-week intensive English language programs throughout the year, with intake dates in January, March, June, and September. We assess the English proficiency of all students and place them in one of 4 levels: Foundations, Intermediate, Advanced, and University Transitions. Classes meet for 20-24 hours per week (Monday - Thursday) and students can choose elective class tracks with a focus on Business and Entrepreneurship, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), or U.S. Culture. All full-time ELC students have access to university resources, libraries, gymnasium, activity centers, and dining halls. ELC students who complete our program go on to succeed in their degree program.

The University of Denver also grants English Conditional Admission to international undergraduate, as well some graduate, applicants who need to improve their English before starting their degree program. Undergraduate students who are conditionally admitted, take credit-bearing classes and learn the skills they need to succeed at the University of Denver.

Instruction emphasizes spoken and written English crucial to college and university study in the U.S. Grammar, writing, reading, listening, comprehension, pronunciation, and conversation skills are taught each day at all levels. Students receive 20 hours of instruction per week in addition to individual work in the language laboratory.

University of Iowa - The University of Iowa Intensive English Program (IIEP) provides intensive English instruction and a cultural, social, and academic orientation to the United States. University of Missouri - The University of Missouri’s Intensive English Program (IEP) offers five levels of instruction from beginning to advanced. Our traditional curriculum consists of four courses per day, or 20 class hours per week, with instruction in reading, writing, listening & speaking, and grammar. The Conversation Partners Program and TOEFL practice are available free of charge. The IEP is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA). Classrooms and the IEP computer lab offer the latest technology. Students are full members of the University of Missouri community and may use all university facilities. The University offers international undergraduate IEP students a scholarship that pays back their IEP tuition and fees when they begin their academic degree program.  

Western Washington University - The Intensive English Program (IEP) at Western Washington University provides a variety of English language courses designed to prepare international students for academic study at American colleges and universities. IEP classes, which are mostly noncredit, focus on preparing students for academic experiences, as well as helping them to adapt socially and culturally to living in the U.S. The 6–level program offers students 20 contact hours of English weekly over 10-week sessions along with cultural outings, service-learning, and experiential learning opportunities. The core curriculum is accredited by the Commission on English Language Accreditation (CEA), recognized) by the independent consortium of University and College-Administered Intensive English Programs (UCIEP, and a member of the American Association of Intensive English Programs (AAIEP). The IEP ties into the Global Pathway Programs at Level 4, which provides students with an opportunity to continue their English language studies while also taking academic courses for credit, which allows students a leg-up on their degree study.
