In order to participate and bid on procurements funded by the
IBRD and the IDA, it is important to know the general outline of
the project cycle or the various stages of a project from
beginning to end. The projects the Bank finances are
conceived and supervised according to a well-documented project
cycle. Documents produced as part of the
project cycle can be valuable sources of information
for businesses wishing to participate in Bank-financed
projects. With this basic understanding of the project
cycle, businesses will be better prepared to conduct research and
target promotional and/or marketing efforts.
To identify business opportunities, including consulting contracts and equipment and services tenders, U.S. companies must take advantage of the World Bank’s website. For more specific information on how to do business with the World Bank, please visit the Business Center.
