Event Overview:

IDEF has experienced continuous growth since the first show in 1993, with the number of countries represented and companies exhibiting increasing from show to show. Visitors to IDEF 2005 reached 85,658 visitors, 431 exhibitors and 282 Delegations from 50 countries, breaking all attendance records. Defense Ministers of eight countries attended the show and Turkish Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul received visitors in the fair area during the course of IDEF’ 05. In addition, the Turkish Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM) also signed contracts with a total value of close to $1 billion.  An increased number of high-ranking government and military delegations are anticipated for 2007, ensuring the continuation of a quality audience.

From May 23 - June 8, Leslie Drake, Director of the Charleston Export Assistance Center will be working in Turkey for the US Department of Commerce will attend IDEF 2007 to assist West Virginia companies interested in the following participation options.

Catologue Show Option:

Cost: $100

West Virginia companies interested in participating in IDEF 200 without incurring the costs of traveling to Turkey and procuring exhibition space can display at the West Virginia table within the U.S. pavilion, organized by The Commercial Service Ankara and Commercial Service West Virginia.  Participants will forward company information and literature to Leslie Drake at the address below:

Participation in the catalog show includes:
- Pre-show promotion through CS Turkey’s website and periodical publications.
- Inclusion in the IDEF ’07 Exhibitors guide.

- Post-show debriefing report including a vetted list of visitors that requested information on your equipment and services.

Meeting Option:

Cost: $500, plus travel and lodging

Through the cooperative efforts of the U.S. Commercial Service and the West Virginia High Technology Consortium Foundation (WVHTCF) up to 4 West Virginia companies can have one-on-one matchmaking appointments at the show on Thursday, May 24 at half the normal cost of U.S. Commercial Service's Gold Key Service.  

Participation in the one-one meeting option includes:
- Preparation of an agenda for the meetings
- Screening and selection of companies and ministries
- Arrangement of meetings with key decision makers
- A car and driver to accompany you to your meetings
