· This event attracts manufacturers of cabinets, store fixtures, architectural
millwork and wood and related products interested in finding equipment,
supplies, technology, knowledge and business contacts that will allow them to
remain competitive.
· Offered in conjunction with the AWFS® Fair, the College of Woodworking
Knowledge® presents a complete program of seminars and conferences. In 2005
these were organized in seven education tracks: Business Management,
Cabinet/Millwork, Sanding/Finishing, Techniques/Applications,
Software/Technology, Hand-Crafted Furniture and Safety & Environment, with
sessions delineated for various skill or management levels.
· U.S. designed and built machinery includes many innovative and
technologically advanced mechanisms that are unique and highly desirable by
manufacturers around the world. Many of the services and supplies available at
the show such as industry specific software, tooling, and wood components are
produced by domestic companies willing to bring needed technology to developing
areas of the world.
· One third of attendees are manufacturers of wood cabinets, one third are
manufacturers of wood products and the other third is comprised of a range of
manufacturers including those that manufacture wood furniture, plastic
products, as well as people who work at saw mills, distributors, educators, etc.
· The products produced by attendees range from cabinets; counter tops;
drawers; custom plastics fabrication; flooring and dimensional lumber;
residential, business and institutional furniture; architectural millwork (e.g.
staircases, fancy molding and trim); windows; doors; picture frames; other
building components; store fixtures and office partitions; upholstered products
and other wood products and accessories.
