Contract Notice: Command and Perimeter Security Systems

The Olympic Delivery Authority invites expressions of interest for the procurement of a Command and Perimeter Security System (CPSS). 

The scope of the CPSS will comprise the design, manufacture, supply, installation, integration, works and site testing, commissioning, maintenance and training for a range of systems including:-

Closed circuit television (CCTV)
Security lighting
Intruder detection, access control and alarm systems (IDS)
Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR)
Command, control and communication infrastructure (C3i) integrated system
Data network equipment and
Associated security systems, information and communication technology and accommodation,

Contract Notice: Broxbourne White Water Canoe Centre

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has issued a contract to tender for the construction of Canoe/Kayak Flatwater facilities.  The Broxbourne White Water Canoe Centre will host the Olympic Games Slalom preliminary and final competitions. After the Games the venue will be developed to become a leisure attraction for canoeing and white-water rafting, as well as a major competition venue for elite events.  The Centre will be managed by the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, which owns the land. 

The ODA has put out a contract for companies to construct the venue, including land formation and landscaping works, construction of a new pavilion, and the creation of an international standard Slalom Canoe course.

2. 2012 Construction Commitments Conferences 2008 - Thursday, June 5, 2008

A representative from the Olympic Delivery Authority is scheduled to speak at a 2012 Construction Commitments Conference in London on Thursday, June 5th.  Attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about London 2012 construction commitments, Common Minimum Standards, and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.

Handball Arena

Work for this contract will involve the design and build of the venue for the London 2012 Olympic Handball and Paralympic Goalball competitions.  The contract may also include some external landscaping works to the front and back of house areas, temporary roads, road signage with associated systems, utilities interface and other works.

Screening and Searching

This contract involves the procurement of a contractor to implement a screening and searching capability for the Olympic construction site.  The system must be able to meet changing requirements, varying threat levels, changes in traffic and load mix, and reconfiguration of the site.  The contractor will be expected to provide the base system components and manage the installation, integration and maintenance of the system throughout the period of operation from the second quarter of 2009 through to Legacy transformation phase after the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Wind Turbine(s)

This project will involve the design, build, finance and operation of at least one wind turbine for the 2012 Olympic Games site in Stratford, East London.  The wind turbine, located in the north of the Olympic Park, will be approximately 2-2.5MW and a total height of 130 meters.  Additional information on this contract is available on the CompeteFor website which can be accessed via www.london2012.com/business.   Details of a Wind Turbine Industry Day will be announced on the London2012 site soon.

Launch of London 2012 Business Network

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has launched the “London 2012 Business Network”, a resource for companies wishing to compete for contracts.  The network provides information on business opportunities, a national program of business events run by London 2012, and CompeteFor, an online resource that gives access to contract opportunities from the ODA, and London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG).  London 2012 contractors will be encouraged to advertise their supply chain opportunities through CompeteFor as well.  Please visit www.london2012.com/business for more information and to compete a business profile.
