UB's bustling North Campus, where most of the university's core academic programs are offered, is located in suburban Amherst. Opened in the early 1970s, the North Campus currently has more than 100 buildings and more on the way, including ongoing construction of new apartment-style student housing, as well as state-of-the-art academic buildings.

The picturesque South Campus, located three miles away from the North Campus in a residential section of Buffalo, was the university's home for much of the 20th century. Here ivy-covered buildings and a traditional bell tower complement new research and teaching facilities.

Programs we offer: UB offers some 300 degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels in its College of Arts and Sciences (31 academic departments) and twelve professional schools: Architecture and Planning, Dental Medicine, Education, Engineering and Applied Sciences, Health Related Professions, Information and Library Science, Law, Management, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Social Work.

Brief information about the University at Buffalo: Founded in 1846, the University at Buffalo (UB) is the largest and most comprehensive university center in the 64-campus State University of New York (SUNY) system. UB offers the largest selection of undergraduate and graduate programs of any SUNY campus. UB is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities and stands in the front rank among the nation’s research-intensive public universities.

Computer Lab/ Internet Access: The university’s central computing facilities and connections to national supercomputing facilities can support research on any scale. All students have unlimited high speed access to the Internet and the world wide web, as well as e-mail accounts, a dull suite of productivity software, and printing 24 hours a day or 7 days a week in the residence halls or in our state-of-the-art classrooms or computer labs.

School Facilities and Social activities for International Students: The University at Buffalo offers state-of-the-art academic, research, laboratory and athletic facilities. With over 300 student clubs and organizations at UB, students can pursue many different interests and participate in a wide variety of social and cultural activities on campus. The university has an Undergraduate Student Association as well as a Graduate Student Association. For the 3,500 international students we have on our campus, the office of International and Student and Scholar Services is available to assist students in their transition to the University at Buffalo through initial orientation, immigration assistance, workshops, and enrichment programming.

Accommodation: The University at Buffalo has residence halls on its South and North campuses. The South Campus has five residence halls, housing approximately 2,850 students. The North Campus has two residence hall clusters, one housing 825 students and the other a self-contained campus-within-a-campus accommodating 3,250 students. All rooms are equipped with ethernet data connection, cable and telephone line. Rooms are furnished with a bed, mattress, desk chair, nightstand, dresser and lamp for each occupant. Lounges, kitchenettes, computer labs, television rooms, study and recreation areas are within each residence hall. In addition, the North Campus offers five new apartment complexes with one, two and four-bedroom furnished apartments.
