World Bank Business Seminar

Opportunities for Consultants
Wednesday, May 28, 2008 Northern Virginia U.S. Export Assistance Center One-day in-depth training to identify and understand opportunities; overview of consultant selection procedures; and tips to prepare an effective proposal.

The World Bank lends between US$15-20 billion each year to developing country governments to fund projects for economic development and poverty reduction. This lending produces approximately 40,000 contracts a year.  Consulting services are part of virtually all Bank projects and each year thousands of consulting contracts are awarded.  Projects under World Bank operations might supplement existing business in a certain market, help a company enter a new market under the World Bank umbrella, or even build relationships with emerging market governments and private sectors.

The Challenge:
To be successful in obtaining World Bank contracts, it is important to know the details of the procurement process; how to develop an effective bid; and how to successfully implement the contract and obtain payment.

Learn More:
The U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce (Northern Virginia Export Assistance Center), in cooperation with the World Bank Group, is providing a comprehensive all-day training seminar to supply you with the information you need to be successful in obtaining consulting projects with the Bank.  Experts from the World Bank Procurement Policy and Services Unit will inform attendees about the procurement process in World Bank funded projects.
