The Missouri Department of Economic Development will be leading a Japan Trade Mission Delegation to participate in BioJapan 2009 World Business Forum in Yokohama from October 6-9, 2009.
BioJapan is the longest running international biotechnology event in Japan. The Japanese biotechnology industry has been identified as a priority industry and the government has provided considerable support to foster this industry and academia has also played a significant role. The market size of the Japanese biotechnology industry in 2007 was $19.5 billion, a 10.9% increase over the previous year.
The purpose of this mission is to promote Missouri as a premier destination of the life sciences and biotech industry. Missouri will exhibit at the USA Pavilion and the Department is focused on recruiting Missouri companies and organizations involved in the following markets: pharmaceutical, medical & biotech equipment, medical devices, biotechnology, contract research, research facilities and accelerator/incubators & research parks.
