The mission of the Commercial Service in Saudi Arabia is twofold:
- to support U.S. commercial interests in Saudi Arabia, and
- to help U.S. companies increase sales and market share in Saudi Arabia.
In a concrete way, this entails:
- counseling U.S. companies on market opportunities, regulations, and methods of doing business in Saudi Arabia;
- assisting host-nation companies in locating suppliers of goods and services in the U.S.;
- helping U.S. companies locate agents and distributors in Saudi Arabia;
- conducting market research targeted to the needs of U.S. companies;
- organizing trade missions, trade shows, and seminars to promote the sale of U.S. products and services in Saudi Arabia;
- identifying major projects in Saudi Arabia and supporting U.S. companies bidding on them;
- negotiating with the host-nation government on market-access issues and barriers to trade and investment; and
- helping to re-establish dialogue and understanding betwen parties to commercial disputes.
