In September of 2003, I came into George’s office looking for professional work experience. In the past seven months I certainly got everything I wished for in this internship experience. George has been a great mentor and friend throughout my growth from Trade Assistant to Trade Specialist. I have spent many months learning the theory of international business, but nothing compared with the “hands on experience” I received here at the Sacramento Export Assistance Center. When I first started here I was very skeptical about the position. I just had completed an internship with Merrill Lynch, which was rather disappointing given the fact that no real interaction with clients occurred or any valuable training was obtained. George trusted me to complete real world assignments, help clients with their export needs, organize events and trade shows.

I highly recommend this internship to anyone who is strongly committed to obtain experience in export and international trade.
