A delegation of eleven American businesses with expertise in the
nuclear power industry visited
the Cernavoda
Nuclear Power Plant as part of the U.S. Civil Nuclear Industry
Promotion Program in Romania that was held in September 21-22,
2009.
The delegation, organized by the Commercial Section of the U.S. Embassy in copperation with Nuclearelectrica and the Ministry of Economy, was in Romania to introduce its capabilities to technical staff of Nuclearelectrica and Energonuclear. The group explored opportunities to participate in the construction of Reactors 3 and 4 at Cernavoda, as well as future construction of a new nuclear power plant.
The program participants (AMEC, Autodesk, Babcock and Wilcox, CH2M Hill, Froehling and Robertson, Hill International, Honeywell, Mathey Dearman, NuScale Power, Trax International, and Westinghouse) represent a wide range of services and technologies from design software, project management, analytical equipment, simulators, components, new nuclear technologies, and waste management.
