This advanced series is designed for export executives that negotiate or are planning to negotiate international contracts and agreements in the form of agent, representative, distributor/wholesaler, joint venture partnerships or licensing agreements. Companies will gain beneficial knowledge in partner selection criteria and learn how to foster successful international business relationships.

International Contracts and Licensing Agreeements

Speakers: Susanne Cook, Director, Chair International Business Group, Cohen and Grisby, P.C. and Bruce Chiu, Associate, Cohen and Grisby, P.C.

Topics include information on important clauses that should be contained in product distribution agreements, terms and conditions of sale, and matters relating to country, cultural and ethical considerations and risks. The afternoon session will provide in-depth information on the business and legal issues that require attention when companies enter into joint venture agreements involving the sharing and development of know-how. Intellecutal property protection and many other aspects of contracts and agreements will be discussed in detail througout the day to better prepare companies for entering into international contracts and agreements.

Program will equip companies with the information they need for partner selection, goal setting, tracking, and effective communication with overseas partners. Mr. Granes, Latin American Regional Manager for Sauereisen, a third-generation company that has grown into one of the best-known, corrosion-resistant material manufacturers in the world, will provide parameters for effectively training your global network along with practical solutions for enhancing representative relations to achieve success. International pricing and promotional methods will be discussed. The session will end with an interactive session for companies to share best business practices.
