GEAR EXPO, first launched as a machinery show in 1987, is recognized as the worldwide gear industry event. No other trade event in the world offers so large an assembly of gear experts at one time and in one place. GEAR EXPO 2009 will bring together all facets of the global gear industry, making it the world’s foremost gear industry networking event in 2009 and meeting the needs of gear manufacturers through the exhibiting of the latest technology, equipment and services that are involved in the gear manufacturing process. The show is also unique in another way – GEAR EXPO is actually two shows in one, as both gear manufacturers and gear buyers attend, allowing companies to reach two markets at one place at one time.

American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) has always conducted a number of different kinds of technical sessions during the show. AGMA has contracted with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) since GEAR EXPO 1995 to present seminars on various gearing-related topics. The Organizer also will run a three-day session of the basic course of the AGMA training school for gear manufacturing during show hours. Since 2005, GEAR EXPO has hosted a classroom on the floor of the exhibition hall known as the Solutions Center. More than 20 exhibitors will be giving presentations in the solutions center in 2009.
