October 6 - 11, 2009
Jockey Plaza Convention Center
Lima, Peru

EXCON 2009 http://www.capeco.org/ formerly known as ExpoVivienda, is the leading building, heavy construction, environmental engineering and mining construction-related international tradeshow in Peru.  More than 53,000 businessmen including buyers, distributors, and joint venture partners from Peru and neighbor countries attended EXCON 2007.  Last year 230 exhibitors participated and have generated over US$ 62 million in export sales for foreign firms.  EXCON 2009 is organized and promoted by the Peruvian Chamber of Construction (CAPECO: http://www.capeco.org).

The U.S. Commercial Service in Lima will have a presence in EXCON 200 with a catalog exhibition booth.

WHY PARTICIPATE ON THIS EVENT?

Peru represents a rapidly expanding market for American goods and services.  Fueled by robust economic growth and eased market access conditions, U.S. exports to Peru grew by 41% to a record level of $4.1 billion in 2007 alone.  This trend should be reinforced as a result of U.S. Congressional approval in December 2007 of the U.S. Peru Trade Promotion Agreement (USPTA or FTA). The agreement will level the playing field for U.S. companies by providing greater access to the Peruvian market and improving the overall commercial and investment climate.  The U.S. Commercial Service in Lima prepares annually the Country Commercial Guide (CCG) for Peru.  This comprehensive report should serve as a first approach to the local market:

Peru’s construction and building sector have been one of the strongest components of the economy in recent years and achieved growth in 2007 of approximately 15%.  This expansion has been propelled by strong overall economic growth, higher investments to install industrial capacity and a boom in the development of commercial ventures. It is expected that the construction and building sector will continue to be one of Peru’s most dynamic sectors, due to investment projects in mining, energy, infrastructure and housing.  The current year should be an extremely promising year for the construction sector, with market growth in the sector expected to reach 20% - 30%.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE?
