Los Angeles and Orange Counties have important sectors of IT and telecom products and service providers. Asia is the world's fastest growing market for Internet and broadband use, offering opportunities for wire-line and wireless technology platforms, next generation network technology, and Internet technologies. Asia's active adoption of both new, and in many markets, the leading edge wire-line and wireless technology platforms have created more demand for U.S. broadband content applications, and services to support the following:
- Internet Protocol (IP integration and applications)
- Mobile gaming and entertainment
- GSM
- 3G and 4G applications
- GPRS
- AN/WAN/VPS technologies
- Broadband networks
- Content delivery networks
- Streaming and multimedia infrastructure
- Voice over Internet Protocol

U.S. Embassy-based Commercial Specialists will meet one-on-one with local companies to assist local companies become better prepared to expand sales into Asian markets by providing customized marketing advice for local companies.
Each Specialist will provide insights into the following aspects of their country's market:
- Stage of technological development
- Overview of foreign government regulations
- Status of market liberalization
- Growth trends in the IT and telecom sectors
