China Risk, Regulations, & Rewards Seminar

Thursday, March 22, 2007 - The China Risk, Regulations & Rewards Seminar was a full day China trade promotion event organized by the Oakland Export Assistance Center (EAC) with China Minister Counselor Barry I. Friedman as the keynote speaker.  During the event, Mr. Friedman presented the U.S. Department of Commerce's Export Achievement Certificate to Mr. Karl Gross of Hy-Energy for the company's export sale of laboratory and testing equipment to Sichuan University in Chengdu, China.  This event attracted approximately 80 participants which included private businesses as well as Oakland EAC partners such as the Bay Area World Trade Center, the San Francisco Global Trade Council, and the Chinese American Environmental Professionals Association.  Key private sector partners for the event included Citibank, Baker & McKenzie LLP and TUV Rheinland, who were financial supporters and speakers at the seminar.  Government speakers and partners included the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), the U.S. Export-Import Bank (EX-Im Bank), and the Department of Energy funded Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's China Energy Group.
