Spring 2008 Trade Mission to India
New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai
The North Texas District Export Council (DEC) is organizing its fifth educational trade mission and its first mission to India. This mission will be an excellent opportunity for school representatives to meet with graduate and undergraduate students who are interested in studying in the State of Texas. Schools will also have individual partner searches performed so that they can connect with the appropriate Indian education institutions. In addition, school representatives will have group meetings with potential Indian agents. Finally, schools will meet with representatives from the local business community to discuss “unmet” educational needs in the workforce.

Dates: April 7 – 11, 2008
Cost: $5,985
Cost includes: participation in all three fairs for up to two representatives per school (additional representatives may attend for an additional fee); customized search for partners; meetings with agents in each stop; and participation in any receptions that may be scheduled. Participants will also meet with Consular Officers and Advising Center representative as well.

Application and Deposit Deadline: Deposit of $500 to hold a spot is due upon receipt of the application. The deadline for applying is December 14, 2007. However, if we meet our goal for number of schools prior to that date, recruitment will be closed.
Payment Deadline: 50% by January 25, 2008 and remaining by February 28, 2008.

Application Procedures:
To apply for the Spring Mission 2008 to India, please submit the application form along with a $500 deposit no later than December 14, 2007.
Mission Cancellation and Refund Policy
Deposit is fully refundable until the application deadline of December 14, 2007. After this date your deposit is forfeited if you decide not to attend. An application will not be considered received and will not be reviewed until the $500 deposit fee has been received. A slot on the mission will not be held until the application is reviewed. Payment schedule is as follows: 50% due by January 25, 2008 and 100% due by February 28, 2008.
The DEC does not pay for:
- Overseas or in-country airfare,
- In-country transit upon leaving and exiting the country,
- Hotels,
- Most meals and
- Personal expenses such as taxis, telephone, fax or laundry charges.
The DEC will cover:
- All in-country transit to/from airports during the mission as long as the participant is booked on the recommended flight.
Hotels
A block of rooms will be held later this Fall.
Flights
A block of seats on the appropriate in-country flights will be made later this Fall.
