Recent Recipients of the Presidential "E" Award for Excellence

Recognition of Both Lincoln Electric and Nylonge!

The "E" and "E Star" Awards are two of the most prestigious forms of recognition offered by the U.S. Government to U.S. businesses.

On Thursday May 24, 2007 Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez joined President George W. Bush at the whitehouse to present eleven American companies with "E" Awards for excellence in exporting.  Two of the eleven companies recognized were from Northeast Ohio: Lincoln Electric in Cleveland received the "E Star" Award and Nylonge in Elyria received the "E" Award.

"Each of these 'E' Award companies are helping to grow new markets around the world and I commend them for contributing to last year's record of $1.4 trillion in goods and services exports. Last year, the growth rate of exports outpaced the growth rate of imports for the first time in nearly a decade," said Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez. "In order to remain competitive, American companies need to expand their access to foreign markets. Congressional passage of pending FTAs with Colombia, Panama, Peru, and South Korea, and renewal of the President's Trade Promotion Authority is critical to keeping our export momentum going."
