Looking for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Customers? Think Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.
The United States Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, is pleased to organize a United States Department of Commerce certified energy efficiency and renewable energy business development mission to Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, October 25-30, 2008.
Paul Dickerson, chief operating officer, will lead a U.S. business delegation to
Cairo, Egypt, and Abu Dhabi and Dubai, UAE to help U.S. firms do business in
this dynamic market. As a business leader in the clean energy sector, you are invited
to apply to participate.
As oil producers, countries of the Middle East are looking beyond today and are investing in energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. For example, many have adopted national strategies that seek to increase the contribution of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and hydropower, and are working with major oil and technology companies, universities and ministries to help develop and commercialize these technologies.
The business development mission's focus is three-fold:
1. To provide first-hand market information to participants;
2. To facilitate market entry of U.S. companies and/or increase sales from U.S. companies to potential energy efficiency and renewable energy technology and services business partners in Egypt and the UAE; and
3. To acquaint U.S. companies with the business structure and political climate of the region.
