COMMERCE DEPARTMENT TO HELP SHOWCASE U.S. COMPANIES AT EXPO INDUSTRIAL “BAJAMAK 2009”
WASHINGTON, D.C., July 8, 2009 -- U. S. companies interested in developing new business contacts at an important regional event in Mexico covering the expanding economy in the Baja California region should consider participating in Expo Industrial “BajaMak 2009,” taking place October 15, 2009, in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
The U.S. Department of Commerce has granted Expo Industrial “BajaMak 2009” Trade Fair Certification status, establishing a U.S. Pavilion that welcomes U.S. firms of all sizes. Trade Fair Certification assures that U.S. exhibitors at “BajaMak 2009” will have U.S. Commercial Service support in both the United States and Mexico.
“BajaMak” is a regional trade show focused on promoting the supply requirements of the maquiladora manufacturing industry based in Baja California, as well as products and services from specialized providers to increase the level of integration in the production process in order to meet NAFTA requirements. This exposition is divided into five specialized pavilions in the aerospace, automotive, medical, metal-mechanical and electronics sectors, where leading industries will promote their supply and service requirements. At “BajaMak 2008” there were a total of 39 buyer companies participating in these pavilions. Each of the pavilions at “BajaMak 2009” will host U.S. and Mexican industrial suppliers and service providers.
In certifying Expo Industrial “BajaMak 2009” the Department of Commerce recognizes the capability and exhibition experience of the organizers of the U.S. pavilion, Grupo Expo Baja, S.C. and the potential of this international market to benefit from U.S. products and services.
The Trade Fair Certification Program is a cooperative arrangement between private sector trade show organizers and the U.S. Government. The program seeks to broaden the base of U.S. exporters, particularly new-to-export and new-to-market firms, by introducing them to key trade fairs where they can meet their export objectives.
The U.S. Commercial Service helps U.S. businesses, particularly small and mid-sized companies, establish international business relationships. The agency’s global network includes 107 U.S. and over 140 foreign offices. For more information on the U.S. Commercial Service, please visit www.export.gov.
