The U.S. – MENA ICT Forum is the first annual forum
promoting U.S. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in
the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region. The U.S.
Commercial Service in Beirut will host this event from May 5-7,
2008 in Beirut, Lebanon. It aims to introduce major MENA ICT
players to the latest U.S. technology and to assist American
companies in penetrating the emerging MENA markets.
U.S.-MENA ICT Forum 2008 is an extraordinary edition of Made
in America, which is an annual trade fair organized by CS Beirut
and displaying the goods and services of over 300 U.S. companies
active in information and communication technology, environmental
technology, healthcare, construction, security, transportation
and the energy sector. Over 18,000 visitors attend Made in
America trade fair every year. Major U.S. companies participating
include Microsoft, Cisco, IBM, Lucent, Tellabs, Pfizer, Johnson
& Johnson, GE, 3M and Ford.
In addition to the trade fair, the U.S.-MENA ICT Forum
will feature speakers from major U.S. firms including Microsoft,
Cisco and Intel to educate ICT experts in the MENA region on the
latest U.S. technology. It will also present speakers from the
MENA public sector, including Ministers of Telecommunications and
Director Generals, to discuss ICT opportunities in their
countries with the U.S. firms participating in the forum.
