FMI 2006
The FMI Show is the food distribution industry's most comprehensive trade event in the world. FMI 2006 will offer more than 30 targeted hard-hitting workshop sessions that challenge the supermarket operator and provide the kind of information necessary to stay on the cutting edge. The U.S. Food Export Showcase, sponsored by NASDA (The National State Departments of Agriculture) and supported by USDA, added over 170 small to medium-sized U.S. suppliers of value-added food products to the FMI exhibit area in May 2005, all of whom were seeking to interact primarily with international visitors.

NASDA will participate again in the 2006 show. Product categories include: Equipment & Supplies, Grocery Products, Perishables, Services, General Merchandise, Health & Beauty Aids, and Technology.

WasteExpo   Not even a hurricane could stop WasteExpo, the largest gathering of solid waste and recycling professionals in North America, from being a success. Due to the effects of Hurricane Katrina, WasteExpo 2006 relocated from New Orleans to Las Vegas mid show cycle. This did not keep 11,000 participants from seeing the latest equipment, learning what is new in the industry and enjoying the many networking opportunities available at WasteExpo.

7400 industry buyers from all 50 states (this number does not include exhibitor personnel, press, etc) attended WasteExpo 2006. As part of the US Department of Commerce’s International Buyer Program, the show hosted over 920 non-US attendees from 66 countries. The 2006 exhibit hall featured 454 exhibitors (up from 445 in 2005) showcasing the latest in solid waste and recycling equipment. Over 115 exhibitors were new to WasteExpo this year. The Technology Pavilion remains a growing segment on the show floor expanding by approximately 25% in 2006. These factors contributed to a 5.5% increase in overall square footage of the show floor from last year. For more information, please click on this link www.wasteexpo.com
