Commercial Service, Korea
U.S. Embassy
Volunteer student internship positions are available at the Commercial Service, U.S. Embassy in Korea. Applicant must be a student or between undergrad and graduate school. This is an excellent opportunity for university students to showcase and enrich their business/marketing skills, develop contacts, and gain knowledge on Korea and its commercial market.
Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with Commercial Service American Officers and Korean Trade Commercial Specialists to help U.S. executives understand Korea and Korean commercial opportunities;
- Preparing market research;
- Counseling U.S. companies;
- Editing publications;
- Participating in the organization of trade events and exhibitions; and
- Office management/administration projects on an as-needed basis, including system administration and IT management.
Qualifications: Minimum two years in a recognized university or four years experience in a related field. Applicants must be an enrolled student or have been accepted to enroll in graduate school immediately following the internship. General business experience helpful. Computer skills and business spoken and written English required. Fluency in Korean and previous experience in an international environment is highly desirable. Also highly desirable are the qualities associated with teamwork, the abiltiy to learn quickly, and high enthusiasm. Applicants must meet the June 30, 2008 deadline. A positive background security check, that takes about 3 months, is required prior to commencing the internship.
Remuneration: This position is voluntary and unpaid. We are looking for full-time interns for a minimum of a 24-week period from Winter, 2008 to Spring, 2009 (December, 2008 - May, 2009).
