Innovations for Sustainable Economic Development in the Mediterranean

The U.S. Commercial Service Italy invites you to participate in the 8th Edition of:

“Innovations for Sustainable Economic Development
in the Mediterranean ”

This international event will be held at the Continental Hotel in Naples, Italy from October 21st through the 23rd 2007. The theme for three-day event is “Sea, Ports, Risks, and Environment” and will mainly focus on:

Port and maritime security with an emphasis on passengers, goods, contraband, military, and maintenance;
Environmental risk associated with port and waterfront activities;
Nautical engineering and ship building;
Ecological and safe transport and logistic systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for U.S. companies operating in any of the above sectors to introduce their services, products and new technologies. The event will be structured to provide specialized venues for business-to-business meetings, conferences, debates, and presentations of innovative products, cutting edge technologies, and the latest in associated services.

Over one hundred key economic and research experts from Algeria, Greece, France, Italy, Malta, Morocco, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey are expected to attend.
Port directors of these countries as well as all Italian Port Authorities have been invited to the event.

Conferences and break-out sessions on specific topics will take place during the event. They include:

  • Transports & Logistics
  • Shipping Technologies & Materials

Global partners sponsoring the event include the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Innovation Relay Center (IRC), International Italian Chamber of Commerce and several other organizations dedicated to the promotion and development of the Mediterranean area. Previous editions have been held in Marseilles (France).

There is no fee for participating in the conference itself, but the U.S. Commercial Service may arrange one-on-one appointments for you for a nominal fee.
