The 64th edition of EICMA Motorcycles will be held at the Milan - Rho Fairgrounds, Nov. 14th-19th, 2006.
The Italian motorcycle market is undergoing deep changes. Traditionally, small motorcycles and scooters sold very well in the market, also due to the strength of big local companies, such as Piaggio and Aprilia.
Recently, the market has switched towards bigger urban vehicles, of italian, Japanese and other East Asian companies make.
Italian main groups include Piaggio-Aprilia, now the biggest European group manufacturing around 1.5 million motorcycles worldwide, (which owns also legendary Moto Guzzi), Ducati, MV Agusta, Minarelli, Motori Morini, Benelli, and Bimota.
Major European competitors include Peugeot from France, Triumph from the UK and BMW from Germany. American companies, namely Harley Davidson and Buell, sold last year around 4,500 motorcycles.
The U.S. Commercial Service Milan will have a booth at EICMA Motorcycles and ease participation of U.S. companies as well as offer the possibility of a catalogue show, offering market briefing and counseling, interpretation services.
