Commercial Service Dublin staff invited local representatives from Irish government, finance, art, agriculture and business for an “Ambassadorial Forum in Carlow” on October 16th.
Senior Commercial Officer Stephen Anderson and Intern Joseph Lonek supported the event attended by 60 representatives of business and the local community. The event focused on the strengths of Carlow as well as the resilience of the Irish economy. Ambassador Daniel Rooney assured the crowd that if Ireland maintains its high degree of education and work ethic, Americans will continue to invest and trade with Ireland. Ambassador Rooney fielded many questions from the audience and received updates from key economic sectors in Carlow.
Traveling to Carlow, County Carlow, CS Dublin visited the Institute of Technology, Carlow, a model of Irish higher education specializing in technology and the sciences. CS Dublin and Embassy staff also enjoyed a tour of the Carlow countryside and an ancient dolmen archeological site.
