The Ministry of Industry & Minerals participanted at the REBUILD IRAQ 2007 in Amman(May 8-9) conference. On 9th May, 2007 they held a workshop at main conference hall of the REBUILD IRAQ 2007 conference at Dunes Club, Amman, Jordan.  The workshop featured the status of important industrial sectors in Iraq together with current and future investment opportunities.

The Ministry manages 59 State Owned Enterprises including over 200 factories in 6 industrial sectors: Petrochemicals; Cement and Construction Materials; Engineering and Heavy Industry; Textiles; Food & Drug; Industrial Services. This workshop addressed the Ministries policies, strategic vision, current   and future plans to promote and encourage private sector investment in these Industrial Sectors.

The workshop focused on investment opportunities in the existing state owned enterprises with presentations of the Ministries current announcement for joint venture investment opportunities in 11 of its existing factories.

The forum included a panel presentation conducted by a team of Ministry of Industry and Minerals senior management and technical staff representing the 6 industrial sectors, followed by an open panel discussion with a question and answer session to address important issues.

Major international companies and financial institutions attended this major event.
