Overview:
Founded in 1927, the University of Bridgeport is a private, non-sectarian, comprehensive university with full accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEACC). With over 3,000 students, UB is best described as the most global and international university in America with students from 50 states and over 90 countries.
The University of Bridgeport was recently ranked by The Princeton Review as one of the top five colleges in the State of Connecticut. According to the U.S. Department of Education, UB has the safest residential campus in Connecticut.
Location:
The University of Bridgeport’s 50-acre campus is located on the Long Island Sound of the Atlantic Ocean. There are 300 acres of playing fields, beaches and picnic areas in adjacent Seaside Park. UB is located in along the corporate gold coast of Fairfield County, Connecticut and is one hour northeast of New York and three hours south of Boston.
Academics:
The university offers more than 50 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including Schools of Arts and Sciences, Business, Chiropractic, Education, Engineering, Dental Hygiene and College of Chiropractic and Naturopathic medicine. UB has an International College, Nutrition and Acupuncture Institutes, as well as our intensive English Language Institute. UB also offers a BRIDGE program for qualified students with 3-year Bachelor degrees.
Co-ops, internships and clinics are available to all students who wish to take advantage of the affluent surrounding areas in Connecticut and New York that occupy the third largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies in the United States.
Faculty:
UB’s internationally renowned teaching faculty hold degrees from Dartmouth, Berkeley, Moscow State University, Georgetown University, Oxford, University of Vienna, Carnegie Mellon, Julliard to name a few. The Dean of Business School has a PhD from Yale; the chair of Computer Science Department holds a degree from MIT.
