In January 2008, David Bohigian, Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce, led a Clean Energy Trade Mission of U.S. suppliers of clean energy and energy efficiency technologies to China, Hong Kong and India. As one of the founding partner countries of the Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development & Climate (APP), this trade mission is in line with APP's focus on expanding investment and trade in cleaner energy technologies, goods and services in key market sectors. During the Hong Kong stop, mission delegates participated in a day-long seminar focused on Pollution Prevention / Energy Effeciency (P2E2), a program designed to identify new financing solutions for environmental technology upgrades in China and the region.
