Market Overview

Hong Kong is a huge market for medical supplies on its own: The Government plans to redevelop its existing hospitals, and build at least three new ones, including a children’s specialist hospital in the coming years.

Hong Kong is a medical equipment and supplies sourcing center for Mainland China and the region: Hong Kong imported approximately US$1.2 billion and re-exported US$1.1 billion worth of medical equipment to Macau, China and the region in 2008.  Hong Kong’s medical distributors have sales connections as far as the Philippines, Pakistan, and India.
