HOSPITALAR 2008, the 14th International Fair, for Products, Equipment, Services and Technology for Hospitals, Health Clinics and Laboratories - THE TRADERS MEETING POINT, is the largest and most important medical trade show in Latin America. Held annually, the show targets professionals of the medical, clinical and healthcare industry including administrators, distributors/representatives, doctors and nurses, health and medical technicians, and manufacturers and provides an opportunity to present new products and technology to investors and participate in over 50 congresses and seminars with the medical community. Serving as the stage on which medical
devices manufacturers can introduce their range of products, HOSPITALAR is a dedicated trade event where hospitals, health clinics and laboratories leading suppliers gather to create a positive trading environment for everyone involved in the provision of health care in Brazil and Latin America. The event has been constantly growing in number of exhibitors as well as in visitors. At HOSPITALAR 2006, over 70 thousand professional visitors from 52 countries attended the event where over 1,000 companies exhibited. The attendees developed business activities and deals estimated at US $1.9 billion in sales. At Hospitalar 2008, over 250 foreign companies representing 30 countries will exhibit.

Brazil is not an isolated market for trade opportunities and can serve as a potential springboard to other Latin American markets. As a member of MERCOSUR, the Southern Cone Common Market, Brazil offers an easy access to Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Venezuela and Bolivia, where intra-regional trade is increasing at a rapid pace.
