CAPITALIZE ON THE FALLING DOLLAR & DRAMATIC RESTRUCTURING IN THE GLOBAL AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY
European automobile manufacturers (both Western and Eastern) are looking for new U.S. original equipment (OE) automotive parts and systems suppliers. The cost of exporting German made parts to Mercedes, BMW, and Volkswagen factories in the United States, only to be exported back to Europe in the form of finished vehicles, has become prohibitive. U.S. suppliers are in an ideal position to replace some European manufacturers and also supply parts to "German" factories in Mexico, South America, Canada, and Asia. Volkswagen AG is now building a new factory in Chattanooga, TN, and has chosen the United States as "Partnerland" for its in-house show, to be held in Wolfsburg, October 6-10, 2010.
The Volkswagen "in-house" show, the "International Automotive Suppliers Trade Fair" (IZB) will take place beside Volkswagen's factory and headquarters which are both located in the city of Wolfsburg, Germany. The IZB has become a large international show, recognized by the international automotive community (see www.wolfsburg-ag.com). Representatives from Volkswagen approached Commercial Specialist Paul Warren-Smith, U.S. Commercial Service Frankfurt, to help promote the IZB show to U.S. manufacturers, in the hope of finding new suppliers, not only for Chattanooga, but also for other global markets. Specialist Warren-Smith has been involved for 30 years in the European automotive industry and maintains excellent ties to major European automotive purchasing departments and engineering agencies. He is bringing a team of OE engineering agencies that deal with global automobile manufacturers, and global suppliers, to Detroit on November 10th, 2009.
