Export Control Seminar in Frankfurt, Germany (in English)

The United States Department of Commerce regulates exports and re-exports of "dual-use" items, i.e., goods, software and technologies with commercial and proliferation/ military applications, through its Export Administration Regulations (EAR). If you are located outside the United States and wish to export or re-export an item of U.S. origin or that has a U.S. connection, your product may require a license from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).

The U.S. Commercial Service Frankfurt, Germany is organizing a seminar on Export Control in Frankfurt June 10, 2008 (in English). Experts from BIS will provide detailed information on U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and on what German companies need to know in order to comply with U.S. export control requirements on commercial goods.

Firms which would benefit from this program are those that:

  • Use U.S.-origin parts and components in a manufacturing or assembly process
  • Incorporate U.S.-origin subsystems and technology into products
  • Use U.S. origin technology to develop foreign-made products
  • Sell U.S. origin products to domestic customers that export these products
