The situation in Poland is different than in other EU countries. First of all Poland has got two years of transition period for implementation of this directive, what means that it will be in force first on December 31, 2008.

The Polish government is currently preparing appropriate law regulations. The law is after second reading in Sejm, the lower chamber of Parliament. It still has one additional reading there and after it goes to Senat, the higher chamber. It has again three readings there and than comes back to Sejm. If everything goes smoothly that after leaving Sejm it is ready for presidential signature that would make the law effective after 30 days. So optimistically speaking the law will be in force around October. So far the Polish government has not implemented any regulations.
