AWWA 2009

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) is the largest and oldest water trade association in North America. Its Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE)--one of the water sector's most important trade shows of the year-- was held June 14-18, 2009 in San Diego, CA. The Global Environmental Team was invited by AWWA to deliver various client service programs at ACE09. The Team conducted its traditional Show Time program, published an online export directory, held a series of three country-market seminars, and piloted International Marketing Forum. Commercial Specialists from the following Showcase Europe countries were present: Czech Republic, Romania, the Ukraine.  

The Team piloted the its first International Marketing Forum. Ten US companies participated in the inaugural Forum, which provided 30-minute time slots for each company to give technical sales presentations to international buyers in a private meeting room.  The list of US companies presenting is available here.  

International participants also had an opportunity to visit Twin Oaks Valey Waste Water Treatment Plant, the largest membrane plant of its kind in the world.

WASTE EXPO 2009

Once again this year, the Global Environmental Team actively provided client service programs at Waste Expo 2009 held in Las Vegas, NV June 8-11. Waste Expo is the oldest and largest solid waste and recycling show held in North America and is a regular participant in the International Buyer Program. This year, the team supported visiting Commercial Specialists from following Showcase Europe countries: Czech Republic, Romania, Ukraine.

AQUATECH AMSTERDAM 2008

SCE ET Team and Global ET Team cooperated with RAI Aquatech show organizer, Water Quality Association and Environmental Expert on putting together a program for U.S. companies at Aquatech Amsterdam trade show that took place on September 30 – October 3, 2008. U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands Mr. James B. Culbertson formally opened the major U.S. exhibitor presence at the WQA - U.S. Pavilion on September 30. Business breakfast briefing"Strategies for U.S. Businesses in Europe":  The event on October 2 was attended by more than 40 U.S. company representatives.  Following presentation were presented - UPS: Logistics below Sea Level; Greenberg Traurig: Trade, Customs and VAT; HIDC: Holland - Your Logistics Gateway to Europe; KAB: Strategies for US Businesses in Europe; Environmental Expert: Online Marketing & Vertical B-toB Portals - New Opportunities & Benefits for Exporting Companies.

Showtime meetings: Commercial Specialists from 15 European countries + European Union CS office were available to U. S. exhibitors interested in specific country briefings.  228 Showtime meetings were scheduled for 27 interested U.S. companies.

On-Line U.S. Exhibitor Directory (Industry Focused Promotion, IFP): 152 international buyer trade leads for the 38 U.S. companies registered were generating resulting in more than a dozen business meetings during the show. SCE ET Team also held an internal SCE ET training and strategic planning session for 2009. The training also included information on REACH directive which most of the U. S. companies will have to comply with - EU environmental legislation affecting ET sector, Is your Business Affected by REACH?
