The U.S. Department of Commerce's Global Environmental Team organized a 9-company trade mission to Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey October 1-5, 2007.
Highlights of this intensive week-long program included over 175
one-to-one meetings in the three countries, roundtable meetings
with federal and municipal environmental-related government
officials, and country market briefings. High-level networking
events included a Consul General-hosted dinner in Turkey with the
Mayor of Istanbul and senior level-Ministry and Municipal
officials, and impressive U.S. Ambassador-hosted receptions in
Romania and Bulgaria that offered the U.S. companies important
visibility and excellent business contacts in each country.
Informal feedback from the trade mission participations indicates
a very high-level of satisfaction with all elements of the
program. Company representatives universally reported strong
distributor, partner and end-user leads in each country.
