The Colorado International Trade Office (ITO) has two primary functions: helping Colorado companies export their products and services to international markets, and attracting foreign investment that creates jobs for Colorado residents. Geographic specialists offer export counseling services, market research, foreign contacts and protocol information, and assistance with shipping and documentation. Staff members are also available to speak at seminars. These services are offered at no cost to Colorado companies.
Additionally, the ITO organizes and leads several international trade shows and trade missions each year. Through participation in these events, Colorado companies can take advantage of opportunities to expand their business overseas, while foreign companies are encouraged to invest in Colorado. The state also has a foreign trade office in Mexico, trade representation in Japan, honorary investment offices in Germany and Switzerland, and honorary representatives in Argentina and Brazil.
