Event Summary: Marintec China 2003 is organized by CMP/Seatrade and Shanghai Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SSNAME). The exhibition is held in Shanghai biennially and is the definitive maritime exhibition in China. This conference has grown substantially since its inception in 1981. The 2003 edition was the largest ever with 18,000 sqm in gross exhibition area, 809 participating companies from 32 countries and regions, and 15 national pavilions, including a U.S. Pavilion with 15 U.S. companies organized by the U.S. Foreign Commercial Services .

For the past 10 consecutive years, China has been the third largest shipbuilding nation in the world. The development and growth of the China's maritime industry and the increased participation of Chinese maritime companies in Marintec China 2005 will provide an excellent platform for U.S. companies to take advantage of the increasing demand for maritime products and services.

Marintec China 2005 has been designated as a Certified Trade Fair by the U.S. Department of Commerce. This year's U.S. Pavilion will showcase American products & services in this sector.
