Event Summary:
The Hannover Fair Asia 2005, which included the industrial shows: PTC ASIA, CeMAT ASIA, ENERGY ASIA, Factory Automation ASIA, and Metal Working China, was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) from 11/28 to 12/1, 2005. Hannover Asia is a certified trade show and this year’s show had 48 U.S. exhibitors. FCS Shanghai exhibited at PTC Asia under an U.S. pavilion organized by the U.S. National Fluid Power Association (NFPA). During the show FCS Shanghai CO James Golsen held a luncheon briefing for over 30 of the exhibitors. CO Golsen, Senior Commercial Specialists Yu-Chien Chen and Scott Yao, and Commercial Specialists Vivien Bao and Jerry Qian also counseled American and Chinese companies on FCS products and services during on-site visits American exhibitors and while manning the FCS booth.
Exhibitors in the U.S. Pavilion included both new to market US companies as well as companies with a pre-existing market presence in China. NFPA’s U.S. Pavilion was focused on a series of U.S. products, components and technologies in the electrical and mechanical power transmission, fluid power transmission, machine parts and gears sectors.
Overall, the U.S. participants of Hannover Fair Asia expressed satisfaction with their participation, and felt that the luncheon briefing provided them with a great deal of information. They also felt that the show organizers were professional and responsive to their needs. From the 22 surveys returned by U.S. exhibitors, companies reported more than 1190 sales leads, 27 pending distribution or agency agreements, over 37 pending sales, and one confirmed ESS generated from the show of over US $10,000.
