Commercial Officer Val Huston and Specialist Shujuan Cao represented the U.S. Embassy at the Future House USA groundbreaking ceremony on March 23, 2007 in Beijing.

Future House USA will be a demonstration project which use will American energy efficient products. U.S. Alternative Energy Living Foundation, Florida International University, and the Ministry of Construction are cooperating to design and build this model energy efficient single family house.

As Ambassador Randt was unable to accept the invitation from Indiana Congressman Burton to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony, Commercial Officer Val Huston delivered congratulatory remarks at this event. Milton R. Copulos, president of National Defense Council Foundation, and George Bialecki, Jr. of Alternative Energy Living Fundation, also gave remarks at this groundbreaking.
