The U.S. Commercial Service recently supported 28 American firms and thirteen catalog participants exhibiting in, and surrounding, the USA Pavilion in the International Hall at the U.S. Dept. of Commerce-certified China International Medical Equipment Fair which was held in Dalian during April 10-13, 2007. Nineteen American companies were featured in the USA Pavilion and nine others had booths nearby. Thirteen catalog participants were featured on the MassMedic stand.
Pre-show publicity on our Chinese-language website at cmef2007.html generated online pre-show leads and added interest at the show for a number of the direct exhibitors. The special web showcase will continue for three months and trade leads will be sent to companies for their use. In addition, 77 visitors completed trade lead forms on-site to request information about one or more of the American suppliers and their products.
U.S. Consul General Steven Wickman of the Consulate in Shenyang joined other dignitaries in the show's lavish Opening Ceremony to kick off the event. He met with manufacturers throughout the USA Pavilion. The first and second days of the show were very heavily attended. Rough weather unexpectedly resulted in lighter booth traffic on the third and fourth days.
A preliminary post show report is expected from the event organizer, Reed Sinopharm, shortly. The U.S. Commercial Service in Beijing will also present its summary of the successful event.
