China International Equipment and Manufacturing Exposition (CIEME) is one of China’s national-level expositions, organized by the Ministry of Commerce, the State Council’s Northeast Revitalization Office, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and the Liaoning provincial government. China has become the world’s largest machine tool consumer and importer, and the central government’s “Revitalize the Northeast” initiative, first implemented in 2004, is providing policy and financial incentives for Chinese enterprises in the region to invest in fixed assets. CIEME’s national prominence in this industrial heartland thus makes it an excellent venue for U.S. machinery and equipment manufacturers to showcase their products.
CIEME 2005—August 30-September 3, 2005 The U.S. Commercial Service, at the U.S. Consulate General in Shenyang, organized a U.S. Pavilion at CIEME 2005, with nine U.S. exhibitors, occupying 891 sq. meters of floor space, equivalent to 99 standard booths. Several participating U.S. companies have already reported signed or pending sales & distributor agreements.
