According to the Energy Information Agency (EIA), world energy consumption is projected to increase 50% from 2005-2030. China's average increase in energy consumption will be up to 3.2% per year from 2005 to 2030 with a 5.1% annual growth rate from 2005 to 2015. According to a recent scenario from the International Energy Agency (IEA), China will surpass the U.S. as the largest energy consumer soon after 2010. This surging increase in energy demand will play a significant effect on international energy consumption patterns.
