Event Summary
The U.S. Commercial Service Beijing organized a successful U.S. Pavilion at the China Building 2006 exhibition, which included 13 American exhibitors, occupying 540 square meters. The show was very well attended and exhibiting U.S. companies all expressed their satisfaction with the leads generated at this event. Nearly all exhibitors indicated that they would participate again in the U.S. pavilion next year.
Craig Allen, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs at the U.S. Embassy gave remarks at the opening ceremony. Mr. Zhang Weiren, Vice Chairman of the National People’s Political Consultative Committee, Mr. Zheng Chengyao, Vice president of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Building Materials Sub-Council Building Material Industry Association, visited each booth in the U.S. Pavilion.
During the show, the U.S. Commercial Service organized product promotion seminars for each U.S. exhibitor. Val Huston, Commercial Officer introduced all U.S. exhibitors who gave presentations of their products, and Commercial Service staff assisted in introductions and matchmaking during the show and during the presentations. The U.S. Commercial Service also co-hosted in cooperation with CCPIT a reception for U.S. exhibitors to meet with potential partners and distributors.
The U.S. Commercial Service received a lot of positive feedback from the U.S. exhibitors. For example, one exhibitor said, “I like to compliment the sound job your staff did for the US exhibitors in the 2006 China Building in Beijing… the smooth service & coordination was one of the best one I have ever had…our two local distributors got many very serious and potential inquiries and should be able to share some good successes with your staff very soon”.
