Promoting Canada as a prime destination for U.S. exporters,
Madellon Lopes of U.S. Commercial Service Toronto teamed up with
Commercial Service Pontiac the week of September 8-12, 2008. The
Commercial Service team counseled a total of approximately 100
U.S. NTE/NTM, and infrequent exporters in the three cities of
Pontiac, Marlette and Port Huron.
Presiding over one seminar, Congresswoman Candice Miller gave
opening remarks touting the importance of "Exporting, Working
Locally and Thinking Globally". A number of multipliers
participated including Automation Alley, the City of Sterling
Heights, the Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County,
EMI District Council, Thumb Works, Saginaw Valley State
University, Sanilac County Economic Alliance, and the Huron EDC.
