SUMMARY
We offer unique Winter 2010 Internship Program opportunities at
our five offices across Canada to Canadian students or Canadian
Permanent Residents studying at U.S. Universities. If you
are currently in an ongoing program and require "field
experience" to enhance your studies, or have recently graduated
and are looking to gain valuable practical business experience in
Canada before entering the permanent work force - then this
internship is for you! Our New Year 2010 promises to ring
in very dynamic trade outreach agendas at all of our offices
across Canada, with a special emphasis on targeting U.S. trade
delegations of small to medium size businesses who are ready for
"new to export" and "new to market" ventures. As well, we
tailor customized export market solutions, single company
promotions, international partner searches, webinars, seminars,
and many other programs and services including extensive market
reports, to individual U.S. firms seeking our assistance.
The importance and impact of our work, and the diversity of
talent, experience and guidance of our Commercial Specialist
staff, makes serving an internship at any one of our Canada
offices a special and rewarding experience not to be
missed! Interns will gain valuable experience in a
progressive work environemnt and will quickly become familiar
with the dynamic field of international trade!

POSITION DESCRIPTION
After a brief orientation period, the intern will receive
'on-the-job' training working on a variety of projects
relating to U.S./Canada trade development. Intern
responsibilities could include: recruiting and promoting
U.S. exhibitors for trade events and scheduling business
appointments for U.S. firms seeking strategic alliances in
Canada; assisting with preparing webinars and seminars; drafting
replies to trade inquiries; conducting market research and
preparing reports. The intern's work assignments shall be in the
public interest, and to the maximum extent possible, shall
provide an appropriate educational experience for the intern.
Positions are full-time (40 hours per week), and are voluntary (no financial remuneration is offered). Each intern will receive an Internship Certificate of Completion and a Letter of Referral based upon performance and the end of the program.

Cover Letter: Why you want to be an intern, what you have to offer and what you hope to benefit from the internship. Also mention in which of our offices you would like to do an internship.
Resume: Future goals, computer skills, past experience, including academic accomplishments, citizenship, student status.
Writing Sample: Displays your market research skills and your caliber of writing style. It can be a recent report that you have already written. Business and market research papers are preferred. Do not submit group work projects.
