In 2004, an amendment to Hong Kong's
Labeling Regulation was passed with a 36-month grace period for
compliance. That grace period ended July 9, 2007. Among other
things, the amendment requires that food labels declare
allergenic substances and list the functional clsas and anme or
identification number (under the International Numbering System)
for food additives.
