P2E2 Technologies Are In Demand!

  • Joint Guangdong / Hong Kong SAR air quality management plan, with stringent emissions targets 
  • Availability of HKPC’s HKD93 million clean tech support program for demonstration projects in Guangdong factories 
  • 1,000 heavy polluters in Mainland China have been targeted by NDRC for immediate clean-up 
  • US $1.5 billion in investment capital and loan guarantees for P2E2 in Spring 2008 
  • P2E2 gaining momentum among banks, investors, end-users and local governments
  • Service companies are already working on implementing P2E2 technologies into hospitals, supermarkets, factories, cement plants, and coal-operated power plants

How Does It Work?

  • Based on a five-year cooperative frame work between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the State Environmental Protection Administration of the PRC
  • P2E2 requires no upfront capital--businesses pay back investments in green technology through cost savings from increases enery efficiency and pollution reduction
  • Loans are backed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as well as the Export-Import Bank
  • P2E2 generates emmissions credits, as under the Kyoto Protocol
